At Hilton Manila, the Lunar New Year was met with much gusto. A cultural lion and dragon dance performance greeted the Year of the Metal Rat, which was followed by an auspicious feast at the hotel’s premier Shanghainese restaurant Hua Yuan Brasserie Chinoise.

To celebrate the prosperous beginning, special set menus were prepared by in-house chef Kevin Xu, who was recently awarded as one of the most outstanding chefs at Le Cordon Bleu 2019 Global Gourmet Chef Par Excellence Culinary Competition. Included in the lineup are his signature creations like the Szechuan-style poached chicken, double-boiled black chicken with ginseng soup, braised noodles with buttered lobster, pork knuckles braised in preserved vegetables and served with steamed buns, and the wok-fried Australian scallop with yellow chives and mixed mushrooms. Made from premium and seasonal Chinese ingredients of the highest quality and cooked with no added MSG, this feast is just as healthy as it is delicious.

The set menus, whose prices start at ₱15,888, are available until Jan. 31. A set can serve around six to 10 persons. For more intimate celebrations, the spacious dining area has cozy booths and stylish private dining rooms good for 10 to 12 persons.
