Keep coronavirus away

The recent coronavirus has kept everyone on their toes. Death reports continue to rise, with no updates yet on antidotes that can stop the rise of the number of infected people.

Aside from washing your hands religiously and wearing surgical or N95 masks, boosting your immune system will help keep the coronavirus (and other virus types) at bay. To quote Benjamin Franklin, “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure,” this rings very true today. Let’s be one more step ahead with these immunity boosting tips.

1.  Get enough sleep.
A study conducted by a team from the University of T├╝bingen, Germany, supported the connection between good sleep and strong immune system. Having enough sleep can help produce cytokines, combating infection.

2. Take your vitamins.
Vitamins C, B6, E, Zinc are your best bets to keep sickness away, especially for children and the elderly. Multivitamins can help, too!

3. Control allergies.
Allergy attacks will lead to colds (and even coughing, headaches, and other irritabilities), which leads to lack of sleep. Keep the house clean with air purifiers. Remember that dustless cleaning is best, so invest in vacuum cleaners.

4. Use the correct type of alcohol.
And not just any ordinary alcohol, it should be 70% isopropyl alcohol. This percentage can wipe out bacteria and other viruses. Alcogel isn’t recommended because of its sticky texture. It will only make the germs stick more to your hands.

5. Always keep yourself hydrated.
Drink lots of water to flush out toxins and bacteria. Level up with alkaline water or infused water with lemon or calamansi for extra measures.
