Where to enjoy a romantic Valentine’s Day dinner

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. Whether you’re vibing a laid-back or luxurious date, we’ve compiled a list of restaurants around the metro that offer special deals for the most romantic time of the year.

Crystal Dragon

The restaurant has planned a five-course Valentine’s set menu that highlights the best of Cantonese cuisine and other regional Chinese specialties. What’s not to love? The Black Pepper Duck Meat Swan Dumpling and Deep-fried Prawn Swan Dumpling, Braised Sea Treasures and Scallop Dumpling and Black Truffle in Lobster Bisque, and Braised Pork Ribs with Red Wine Vinegar and Wolfberry Reduction are just some of the items to expect. This particular menu, available until Feb. 16, costs ₱3,880++ per person. Customers can also try out the restaurant’s new dim sum menu.

Nobu Manila

Nobu Manila is also offering a special five-course meal of Japanese-Peruvian flavors. The Valentine’s Omakase begins with Nobu Sashimi Trio (composed of Oyster New Style, Oyster with Mango Salsa, and Kinme with Soy Cream Truffle), then followed by a seasonal selection of Nobu Sushi, Sous vide Australian Tenderloin with Dark Chocolate, Sake and Mirin Reduction Demi-glace, Broccolini and Nobu Style Fries. A plate of Fraisier Crème Mousseline Parfait with Champagne Jelly and Strawberries concludes this meal. Available on Feb. 14 only, the Omakase costs 10,000 nett for two persons.

Sofitel

In Sofitel’s Le Bar, customers will be treated to a lavish five-course French menu, which costs 3,000 nett per person. For appetizers, guests will be served with brouillade d’oeufs with chestnuts and sea urchin, then with a serving of  butternut squash velouté with truffle and king prawn. For the main course, they have two options to choose from—the pan-seared and whisky flambéed sea scallops, creamy asparagus and guanciale risotto with shallot purée and parmesan cappuccino; or the beef tenderloin with béarnaise sauce, mornay stuffed macaroni gratin and parsnip purée. The meal is concluded with a serving of crémeux caramel with fleur de sel and hazelnut sablé, and white chocolate ice cream.

Casa Buenas

Looking for somewhere homey, yet elegant to take your special someone to? This newly-opened restaurant at Hotel Okura in Resorts World Manila will be throwing a three-day Valentine’s dinner on Feb. 13 to 15. La Serenata will feature a special six-course menu that is said to be “crafted like a traditional Kundiman.” Expect a hearty serving of Tuna Tartare Kilawin, Kumot, Gambas, and Grilled Octopus to start off the meal. This will be followed by Salmon Yazu Dashi for Soup, and Grilled Beef Tenderloin and Iberico Pork Jowl for the main course. A delectable serving of the Emperador Strudel will be served as dessert. La Serenata costs 6,000 nett for two persons. Guests may also opt to have an exclusive date at La Cupula or a family date at The Pamilya (long dining table).
