Check out these Animal Crossing K.K. Slider covers

The Nintendo Switch game Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which Bloomberg called the “biggest hit of the lockdown,” is filled with a colorful cast of animal characters on an island adventure.

One of the most loved characters of the franchise is musician K.K. Slider. While it takes some time and work to invite K.K. Slider to your island through Tom Nook’s Project K, players can purchase his catchy tunes in order to familiarize themselves with his wide range of in-game hit singles (over 90 songs). This is, of course, all in-game.

But the charm of Animal Crossing and the distinctive style of K.K. Slider has influenced American college student and “Animal Crossing meme boy” Clay Kramer to create covers in real life of popular songs under his name, posted on YouTube, Spotify, and Apple Music.

The original covers include Ariana Grande’s “thank u, next,” The Killers’ “Mr. Brightside,” Elton John’s “Tiny Dancer,” and even a duet of “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” with Animal Crossing’s de facto mascot (and playable Super Smash character) Isabelle.

Kramer has also recently begun releasing a new set of covers under The Lost Tapes, including Joji’s “Slow Dancing in the Dark” and Drake’s “In My Feelings.”
