Do you speak in memes?

Almost everybody in the world does nowadays. Memes are going to be among contemporary humankind’s gifts to the future. Centuries from now, when the people of tomorrow look back to our times, they would unearth digital copies of our memes.

Can you imagine what that would be like?

Well, now you don’t have to. A board game company in Kiev, Ukraine is developing a new concept that they’ve put up in Kickstarter. The game is called Deus lo Vult, a variant of the Latin motto of the crusades (Deus vult), which means God wills it, and it turns a lot of today’s memes and some other pop culture images into Medieval frescos—including the African funeral dance meme, which has regained popularity recently.

Looking at some of the medieval memes included in this board game under development, perhaps you would agree. God does will it.

All of the memes are made by Micheal Skop, the team’s artist.
