Can you spot the error in the Wikipedia article on the Philippine ₱1,000 note?

One Reddit user noted that something is a bit off with the most recent image

Many students, and even adults, think of Wikipedia as the first stop on any journey of knowledge. The information, however, is generally crowd-sourced. While there are volunteers who monitor the edits of Wikipedia articles to ensure that there isn’t any vandalism or misinformation, some mistakes can stick.

One Reddit user recently pointed out that the Wikipedia article on the Philippine ₱1000 note has an error.

It is a small error to notice but if true, and not just some Photoshop editing, there might be some major ramifications. The photo of the current ₱1,000 note says “Rodrigo Boa Duterte,” misspelling the name of Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

According to the Wikipedia page, it was uploaded on Aug. 12 of this year. It is still on the Wikipedia page as of today, Sept. 29.

Other Reddit users commented on the thread saying that they will check their ₱1,000 notes. If there is an actual misprint, those notes may be a collector’s item worth more than their ₱1,000 face value.

Another Reddit user noted that similar misprints had occurred in the past. They mentioned the ₱100 bill printed in 2005 that misspelled Pres. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo’s name as “Arrovo.”
