Here’s how you can bring the Halloween festivities at home

Have worry-free virtual parties that still spell fun and spooky

Halloween need not be different this year. We’re missing the gatherings, sure, but six months have proven that festivals and parties can also be enjoyed virtually if we know where to look. Here are a few creative activities and cool online events we’ve heard (through the grapevine) for the whole family in the safe confines of our homes.

What: Rockwell Voyager
Where: Order at Powerplant Mall’s Facebook Messenger
When: Oct. 31
Rockwell is ready to channel all that energy for Halloween by celebrating the occasion just like before, no less. Those who usually go trick-or-treating at the mall will be whisked away to outer space through an interactive Space Voyager Kits. The kit includes a jetpack backpack of cosmic candies and treats, exclusive access to a DIY astronaut mask workshop, top secret space missions, and space badges. You can get these kits for P1000 each through Power Plant Mall’s Facebook messenger.

What: SM Spoo-Kiddie Party

When: Oct. 31 at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
If you’re up for pixie dusts and cute monsters, check out SM’s take on virtual Halloween parties! Kids can have an e-meet and greet with characters: Draggles of Hatchimals, Strawberry Kiss of Shopkins, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie of My Little Pony, and participate in fun-filled activities.
To join, customers must purchase the Spoo-Kiddie bag for P999 exclusively at Toy Kingdom SM Megamall LGL, Mega A, or buy through My SM Shopper starting Oct. 22 until Oct. 30 to receive the invite card and register.

What: Sharktacular Halloween with Pinkfong and Baby Shark
Where: Private Facebook Live Watch Party
When: Oct. 31 at 4 p.m.
Ayala Malls will be offering something fin-tastic with a virtual mall show featuring Baby Shark and Pinkfong. Yes, that song we have been dancing to even before the pandemic.
You can get an admission pass to the private Facebook group by presenting a P500-single purchase receipt from Ayala Malls, including purchases made at the Sharktacular Halloween Fair, and through A.N.A. (Ayala Malls Neighborhood Assistant). Receipts must be dated Oct. 23-30, 2020 to qualify. The first customers will also receive a free Halloween sCARE kit loot bag, which can be redeemed from Oct. 23-30 at the Market! Market! Activity Center.

What: SPOOOKED: Caught in a Web of Halloween Horrors

When: Oct. 30 at 5 p.m.
Here’s something more jam packed for the whole family. Crimson Hotel’s Halloween party lets you join creative activities, play virtual games, and enjoy its complimentary No Tricks All Treats snack box and cookie decorating kit for just P1,000. Just when you thought you’re bidding that ghoul frock goodbye, the event is also hosting a costume contest to get everyone in the eerie mood.

The colorful afterlife on the Land of the Dead in Coco is a sight to see, with all that dazzling Calavera skulls that represent death through sweetness and nostalgia? Well, maybe you would love some sweet DIY time. If we can’t celebrate Halloween outdoors, we may as well do our part in maintaining the harmony at home. By joining On the Web Facebook event, the kids can get a chance to win a loot bag with a seedlings kit, Halloween cookie-decorating kit, and Halloween home decorations kit.
